Photography galleries to visit in the Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins area

If you are looking for a photography gallery in the Denver / Boulder / Fort Collins area to visit, I would strongly recommend one of the following:

Camera Obscura Gallery, Denver, CO
http://www.cameraobscuragallery.com/

Center for Fine Art Photograph, Fort Collins, CO,
www.c4fap.org

On the 2nd Friday of every month, the gallery at French Quarter Photography in Longmont, CO, opens a new exhibit and has an artist reception. The featured artist for the month is not always a photographer but some very good artist exhibit there. An additional bonus is the display of photography by Tim Ellis, the owner, showing New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Long time since last post

I can't believe that it is almost the end of July and I have not updated this blog in a while. For those who are curious, the Longmont Photo Group is taking the summer off. We hope to get back to meeting on a regular or semi-regular basis in the fall.

On the good side, stay tune for an announcement on a seminar we are putting together to be held in the fall. We are still working out the details and will have more info available shortly.

I hope everyone is having a good summer. For those looking for good photo ops, check out the Dragon Boat Festival, July 26-27th at Sloan's Lake in Denver.

1st Meeting Announcement

The Longmont Photo Group is a monthly gathering of photographers and those interested in photography. The goal of the group is to learn and to get inspiration from each other, as well as giving each of us an additional opportunity to spark our creativity. Additionally, we also want to be able to be a resource to each other.
Among the future activities we are wanting to do is to have a group photography show, visit local galleries, and conduct seminars and workshops. We also want to have a different photographer each month show their some of their work and talk about what sparks their creativity and provides them with inspiration.
The first meeting of the group will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Café Luna located at 800 Coffman St in Longmont Colorado. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm. The main goal of the meeting is to discuss what we want to do and to set a schedule for the next few months.
