Faded and Blurred Website / Blog

While checking my Facebook page tonight I came across the Faded and Blurred website/blog.  Faded and Blurred is a photography site that focues on vision and the image rather than the equipment.  In short it's a site packet full of information including interviews with well-know photograhers, videos, tutorials, a blog, a forum and much more.

In the Photographer Spotlight section there is a great article on Steve McCurry. If you don't recognize his name, you will recognize his photograph from National Geographic of the Afgan Girl.  It's probably one of the best and most well known photographs ever taken.  A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to see a real print of it and it's even better in person than you can image.  One little know fact about Steve McCurry is that when Kodak quit making Kodachrome a couple of year ago, they gave the very last roll made to Steve.
I think this will be one of the few websites and blogs that I visit on a daily basis. It's well worth sending some time checking it out.

Creative Live On-Line Seminar with David duChemin

Earlier today, I received an email about an on-line seminar with David duChemin being offered by Creative Live.  If you are not familiar with David, he is a world and humanitarian photographer as well as being a best-selling author on photography, and leader of workshops world-wide. He has numerous hard copy and e-books on making a living with photography, finding your vision, Adobe Lightroom. and many other great topics.

The on-line seminar, which focuses using photography to express your vision, being offered by Creative Live is a series of prerecorded videos.  The on-line course is currently being offer for $129 till December 31, 2010.  If  you go to http://creativelive.com/courses/david_duchemin, there is a video that previews the course.  Based on the agenda shown on the site and the video it looks like it is well worth the $129.

If you get a chance check out this class as well as David's books, blog, and website. He does amazing work.

Smart Ad Campaign for Diesel

It seems like really good advertising that combines smart content and great photos are hard to find. Anomaly Agency, out of New York and London, has created a series of ads for the clothing company Diesel and they are really funny.  This is a campaign that looks like it would have been fun to work on.  I don't know if they won an awards for it but if they didn't, they should have.

More print ad and videos for this campaign can be seen at Advertolog.com.  Check them out and think they will make you smile.  They made me smile.
